Facebook event for the Oslo show

The American band has visited Norway a number of times since releasing their debut, “Everything All The Time”. Their first visit to Europe was a single show at the Norwegian Øyafestival. Since then they’ve visited Rockefeller twice, Folken, the Hovefestival and they’ve also returned to Øya.

Since their debut they’ve released two albums, “Cease To Begin” and the latest one, “Infinite Arms”. As usual the reviews have been pulling a long list of names out of their hats, including, but not limited to: Neil Young (& Crazy Horse), My Morning Jacket, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Band and Iron & Wine.

The past week was a busy one for the band. Two festivals appearances in Norway, Rått og Råde in Stavanger and Døgnvill in Tromsø, in addition to a radio session, which the band enjoyed very much, for the state channel, NRK. (It might be available here depending on where in the world you are.) The festivals show were fantastically received, a terrific crowd in both cases.

As an added bonus they got to perform in Ishavskatedralen,  a church in Tromsø designed by the same people as the Sydney Opera House. The occasion being a couple that had got engaged during the band’s previous show in Norway. Now they were getting married, the band were invited and were honoured to perform “Marry Song” for the married couple to be.

Judging by the reactions after the shows this year, the Oslo Spektrum show is going to be something really special, both for the band and for a crowd that just keeps giving the band a better and better reception for every show they do here. It’s no wonder Band of Horses love Norway.

And of course, there’s just about three tons of Spoon Train events happening, from concerts at the festival site to clubnights at Revolver, Gamla and Parkteatret. Norwegian bands, finnish bands, danish bands, american bands, bands from Bergen and even a band that’s closer to a yacht then a band.

Little Hands of Asphalt @ last year's Music Fest.

We’re so looking forward to tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the annual Music Fest Oslo, modeled on the French superparty Fête de la Musique. Also known as the best day of the year, no doubt whatsoever. A musical christmas eve just when summer hits Oslo and brings warmth back into the hearts of us cold Norwegians. Delicious.
